The work is not complete when the shoot ends. Similar frames are first compared, technical failures are removed and the photographs that form the strongest overall series are selected.
Selection is not based only on whether an individual frame is sharp or correctly exposed. Expression, posture, perspective, background and the role of the photograph within the full series are also considered.
During editing, brightness, contrast, colour and cropping are coordinated across the images. The purpose is not to alter the subject artificially, but to develop the intended visual effect consistently.
Depending on the photograph, small distracting elements may be removed, skin tones may be balanced and local adjustments may be applied. Extensive manipulation or compositing is not automatically part of standard editing.
Finally, the photographs are exported in suitable formats. High-resolution files are appropriate for archiving and printing, while smaller optimised versions load more quickly and are practical for websites and social media.
